each question, each drawing is an invitation to join me in allowing what appears absurd to take us to a wisdom beyond linear thinking.
as long as we question, we are free. free to see, to feel and to express who we are. and to connect collaboratively with one another.

- i am a painter who began my career as a child coloring outside the lines of my coloring books. i am a writer who started out by composing adventure stories while riding my stick horse around the backyard. as a child, i got in trouble for asking too many questions...i question that.

"the emperor's new clothes" by hans christian andersen
this fairy tale has been a companion to me as i have traveled through my life.
briefly, it is about an emperor who was deceived by two tailors who said they were making a set of clothing out of a "dream" fabric. in reality, they used no fabric at all. to make their scam complete, they announced that only those who were wise enough would be able to see the beautiful clothing. and so, no one, not even the emperor, admitted to being unable to see it.
wearing his new "clothing", the emperor paraded through his kingdom. no one questioned his appearance; no one wished to appear less than wise.
until a small child asked, "why is the emperor not wearing any clothes?"
so it is that i ask, if i question rather than believe i am wise, what will i see?

that's right, on your own way if your're a ball out of the French team soccer....ahahahahha

But it starts by "?" doesn't it? And that " ? " is! you know like Homer Simpson with his beer, where is the end?
the "?" is the end of the question when the question is in words. your comment has caused me to wonder.....even if the mark ("?") is not there, do we still "see" it?
what if "?" began the words?
?how would we relate to the question, then.
for me, the "?" is a mark upon the page. and so it is that the lines emerge.....other marks upon the page, containing the "?" although it is not visible.
A "?" is just a sign, and when we speak we ask to someone at anytime...The thing is to get an answer, or a beginning of something, and we all say but who is listening, really?
so a "?" is also the beginning of something. i like it!
a question can be asked more than once but its valid answer will always be equal or less than the question.

To get the answer you have to fall many times i guess, so that you stop worrying about the pain or how to get up etc. and start to let the fall happen and just observe it as it is.. ?

hi. just want to add that in Spanish a question is written with a question mark at the beginning and at the end. :)
yes! thank you for pointing that out. there is so much beauty in the spanish language, seems to me.
i really like jana's comment and will try to orient myself to it as i fall and get up and fall again......
ah..ah..aaah...i like this.by the way i like your drawings too.well,whats important is 'getting up',doesnt matter how many times u fall.
if you fall like a ball, then once your feet will reach towards the sky, and then your head will be upright, and so on and so forth; except that a ball has all heads or all feet!
wow! the ball has all hands and feet! how cool is that?

Yes....when you fall....you learnt lessons ....and that lesson brings you a step closer to how heaven(sky) is....is not important how many times you fall...but remember your poise as you fall...and remember get up to walk again ....because ...."heaven taste"....need to be shared with your fellow travellers :)
so, falling gracefully enables us to experience more than our feet to take us to in the day to day.....?
If I fall will I be able to bounce back up? Or if I walked on my hands would the journey through life be any easier? A great blog! I'm glad I stopped by...Cindy
if you walked on your hands, i wonder how falling would feel.
actually, it doesnt 'reach' toward the sky. but just kind of pushing off from an endless, vast space and plummeting into something firm and solid. and unforgiving.
to push off from an "endless vast space"......am thinking there is an art to that.........
i noticed and love the way u have asked the question....'will my feet reach TOWARDS THE SKY '.......not will my feet reach the ground or will my head reach the ground.....the question is which will reach towards the sky.....does the sky signify something ?? u use the word 'fall' and not 'jump' implying that u have been pushed or forced to jump but the feet still reach the sky because they never intended to leave. our feet are the ones that take us to places...places we like....they are the first to move when we dont like the place...and the last to move when we like the place so much that we don't wanna leave.
if i fall it comes inintentionally, by surprise. my world suddenly is upside down.
yet, what happens with my feet? we don't fall to our feet, do we?
if my world is suddenly upside down, can my feet (which you describe very well......i mean, not my feet but feet in general......) take me somewhere new?
will my feet find inside wings so that i might fly?
maybe our mind gives them imaginary wings....to take us to places we love
so are our hearts involved, too?
