is compassion
(feeding each other)
what we are
needing?

is compassion also recognizing the hunger of others? recognizing that we eat what does not nourish us, that just feeds the hunger?

which recognizing?
which hunger?
which eating?
which feeding?
which nourishment?
physical?
psychological?
spiritual?
it's all real
it's all suffering
to a hungry child, God looks like food
to a lonely and depressed individual, God looks like a hand on the shoulder and a whispered "I Love You"
for someone in the "void", God looks like detachment from the suffering
recognize hunger.....YES
which level?......ALL
relieve it?.....what else is there to do?
THIS is our nourishment.

a lonely glass wall around the heart
thinking that "I" am enough
thinking "I" know
thinking
"I"
us and them
3rd chakra stuckness

so is greed separation from others? and compassion nourishing through connection?

red crow said...

that's the way it feels to me

is greed then starvation?

red crow said...

starvation of the spirit, yes

"is greed self-feeding"...
reminds me of a story I heard about people sitting around a table unable to eat their food because their spoons were too long. Then they realized they could feed each other.

so if we fear hunger, fear suffering, we end up holding a spoon too big for our hands?

reminds me of a song by Dylan

Idiot Wind

"I/ve been double-crossed now
for the very last time
and now I'm finally free
I/ve kissed goodbye the howling beast
on the borderline that separated you from me
You/ll never know the hurt I've suffered
nor the pain I rise above
and I'll never know the same about you
your holiness
or your kind of love
and it makes me feel so sorry...
idiot wind
blowin' thru the books upon our shelves
we are idiots, babe,
it's a wonder we can even feed ourselves"

er sumthin like that
