Unfamiliar ....guess ...see how much "weight"...you put into both familiar and unfamiliar ...these two words ....maybe being unfamiliar is being not known by the others ....the degrees of being known...and unknown is at different levels for different people at differnt stages ....it may be you know the person alot in ways that the person being unknown about that ...but it seems that each of us ...had a lot of layers of being known...different aspects and perspectives that person held :)

so what seems familiar could actually be unknown in many ways.......

as you say, a matter of degree......

we so often look for the black and white but i wonder if it all is not some shade of gray..........

s.a., cutting and pasting is the only way i could get your comment to post:

Hey,Anne...btw why do you draw that pic ...i am just wondering is it some juggling sticks ...and it appear to me that one had fallen ....are you feeling that you are getting unfamiliar with something that you thought you are familiar with ....thus, dropping of the juggle sticks ??

actually, the first is a very good question. and i really like your second question........am i feeling unfamiliar with something i thought i was familiar with........

i have no idea.......that is the answer.........sometimes, this blog has a mind of its own. it is unfamiliar yet something about it makes sense........is familiar in a way.

the two drawn images close to each other perhaps personify the familiar. the one more apart.......well, that could be unfamiliar.

which leads me to question whether unfamiliar means "separate"?

so, if i had not seen you before, if i did meet you, would i feel separate from you?

I dun know ....perhaps ...there is alot of factors that is involved ...like your personality, your outlook in life, your goals in meeting me, and well, thus getting familiar and being not familiar ...i think being separate may not mean being unfamiliar ....i guess to be familiar with the person...is how much we want to open up ourselves to each other ....whether you trust that person enough to be familiar with him or her :)

s.a., so is what is familiar another way of describing that which we trust?

Yes ...just like "family" being "familiar" ...do we trust our family?? Then again...there out in this world there is so many families that is broken, that is not funtioning well...guess that is why ...in order to have a good family ...we need the head of the household to have a faith ...thus able to lead the family with a firm believe and a love ...so true and yet, in today world....becos so many of us had been not able to taste that ...thus, there is so many hurts in this world :)
