Since you knock, and did not ring the doorbell ...therefore i will not hear the doorbell....
question : Do you then heard the knocks on your door when i knock at your door ?? Will you open it ?? Or would you insist that you want to hear the doorbell ??

since i assume you will ring the doorbell, i might not listen for your knock at the door. even if you do knock, i might not hear it since the sound would not be what i was expecting.

and why would you choose to knock at the door rather than ring the doorbell?

I can't hear the doorbell...i hear the knocks ....haha....

if you listen for the knocks only then the doorbell ceases to have meaning........

If I keep the doors open as a sign of an open invitation, would you still ring the doorbell, still knock on the door?

what if my intention of leaving the doors open was a sign of friendship and care, would you still follow the courtesy measures and ring the bell or knock on the door?

Why don't you just walk in?

bh, is what looks like an open door always an open door?

An open door is not exciting ...guess a closed door brings more mystery....and when is opened with warmth....the delight would be much more :)....

to discover warmth expectedly, then brings more delight? does it take us beyond what we expected and so we more easily get caught up in the joy?

Well...depends ...unexpectedly is surprise ...expectedly is growing...perhaps....well...openingdoors bring everyone....closed doors open to someone who knocks or ring the doorbell...Anne, which kind of doors would you like ??

i would like a door with a window in it so that i could see you as you walk toward my house. then i could open the door and stand in my doorway and welcome you to my home.

and you, s.a.? what kind of door would you prefer?

Actually, i dun know which kind of doors i like ....but guess i dun like the kind of doors you said ...cos ...what you do inside the room...would be seen by the people outside the door ...but then again i see your point of wanting a window on the door :)...guess haha...i remove the door and have seamless opening ...no...no...guess i am flexible ...if there is wind and i would like the wind to blow ...i open the door, and if i feel unsafe or wanted more privacy ...or to block out sounds and distractions ...i closed the door ...until i hear the doorbell....or knocks ....but i got no hearing illness ...so i will definitely open the door :)

if the door is solid, then i cannot see out of it. the information about the outside world comes to me through my sense of hearing. my ears then become my eyes.

i wonder, how often do we close the doors to our hearts and no longer see what is beyond them? and if that happens, when we hear our hearts beating, what do we see?
