each question, each drawing is an invitation to join me in allowing what appears absurd to take us to a wisdom beyond linear thinking.
as long as we question, we are free. free to see, to feel and to express who we are. and to connect collaboratively with one another.

- i am a painter who began my career as a child coloring outside the lines of my coloring books. i am a writer who started out by composing adventure stories while riding my stick horse around the backyard. as a child, i got in trouble for asking too many questions...i question that.

"the emperor's new clothes" by hans christian andersen
this fairy tale has been a companion to me as i have traveled through my life.
briefly, it is about an emperor who was deceived by two tailors who said they were making a set of clothing out of a "dream" fabric. in reality, they used no fabric at all. to make their scam complete, they announced that only those who were wise enough would be able to see the beautiful clothing. and so, no one, not even the emperor, admitted to being unable to see it.
wearing his new "clothing", the emperor paraded through his kingdom. no one questioned his appearance; no one wished to appear less than wise.
until a small child asked, "why is the emperor not wearing any clothes?"
so it is that i ask, if i question rather than believe i am wise, what will i see?

What will you find right around the corner ?? Will you knock on me and said sorry??....do you think is simple or complex to think that way ??

Well,what makes it complex and simple ...maybe the reasons and the consequences of you turning the corner....hope that the corner we all turn will help us to make good fortunes :)....
and is good fortune simple or complex?
Its very complex to be simple in this complex world, is probably the answer you will get
oddly enough there is a simplicity to complexity, if complexity becomes the norm of one's life. and recreating simplicity can be a complex challenge.
and if one does create simplicity, then does one fit into the day to day world?
I am thinking that living in simple ways are so much better ...you just focus on those things that matters most to you....thus whether is simple nor complex ....is not that important anymore ...becos whether is complex or simple ....it is something that you treasure ...that you know that is worth putting in efforts or your heart :)
ah, so there is something that transcends simplicity and complexity, and shifts the attention to another way of regarding one's day to day life......that which i treasure.
it is interesting that in these times when we ask how to simplify, perhaps we miss the question......how to experience the life in our lives.
Anne, like your comment "Perhaps we miss the question...how to experience the life in our lives"....perhaps in the complex world, we come to appreciate the simple things in life ....the cries of little girls and boys, the smiles of the wrinked old ladies and men ....the trees and birds in the natural :)
and even the tree........that which might seem so simple......is not a tree complex as well?
can i simply be with that which is complex?
Simply be complex and you can be with that complex tree ...haha ...but i always think that trees are not complex ...but they are strong in their simplicity thus making them complex :)
strength within simplicity.......can be so complex that it can only be simple............
