as long as you don't want to hide a secret with your silence, it won't beat as louder as usual

In silence, your heart sounds loud, or at least loud enough to listen.

ah, the sound of a listening heart.

i like that, sir.

and echo, i wonder if i ask silence to hide a secret, will it lose its voice?

No, if you are silent the desires of your heart will be suffocated. Till there is nothing left of you and your heart is broken.

is it possible to be completely silent? do we speak in ways other than through words?

If i am silent ....will my heart stop beating?? ...because you are no longer speaking out of what your heart felt and it no more need to funtion again.....

now that is an interesting question, s.a.!

what would the silence sound like? Like the soft beating of your heart or simply the sound of the winds? Is the heart beating softly because the silence is "killing" her? And maybe with her soft beating she is urging you to open up and end the silence, let the words revive life, liveliness, and sound into the heart?

bh, interesting.......words as a source of rebirthing, coming back to life....and s.a., referring to the heart as a source of feelings that give meaning to the words.

is there such a thing as silence?

I believe there is..but silence is always connected to "no sound"...why shouldn't silence have a sound?
To me silence have a sound of my thoughts, sometimes my breathing, sometimes someone's voice, sometime the gushing of the wind..and sometime the beating of my heart..
so if silence is composed of all these things..
what is silence then?

i wonder if silence has many definitions. if it is the absence of sound, then that is not possible...as you say, bh, i can hear my own thoughts, etc.

there is silence in between words when someone is speaking.

in art, there is such a thing as negative space...the space around what is painted. it participates in the piece along with the painted image. i wonder if silence is something like that?
