if i count to ten, will you ask me to multiply instead?

I would, because I know you would do so for me. Even after counting, you would multiply for me because you are a good and giving person.
I shouldn't ask you to multiply. it's selfish of me to expect such math from somebody who has already counted for me. But alas, we take for granted the ones who willingly give so much.

so if i gave simplicity, would you ask for complexity?

just because you knew i would give you what you ask?

but if i am one who counts, am i also one who multiplies?

Counting is recording the amount that is there....whereas multiplying is to grow the amount ....if you are to count to ten, would you be thinking of growing it to mulitples of ten, or would you just to it becos you are asked to ?? So it depends...on whether you choose to be the one who counts or multiplys or both ....sometimes counting the numbers make us realise that numbers in itself got it's wonderful aspects of giving us the signifiance of things that we never expect would happen ;)...the good of both mulitplying and counting ....

s.a., this is interesting.........counting is recording what is there. what i see and touch. yet, there are times in which multiplying involves imagining.....imagining what multiples of what i am seeing would be like.

so i wonder, if you ask me to multiply, are you inviting me to go beyond the day to day?

Guess....ya i am ....wonderful multiplying ....imagine and invent ....for the good of mankind ;)

s.a, i do like that.........multiplying seen as imaging and inventing.....mankind does deserve higher math!

But in the process of getting a higher Math we also need to count the costs involved through learning from history mistakes ...that takes ....a lot of patience in learning ...a lot of applying wisdom and knowledge ....and we need to unite our hearts to go for the goals ;)

yes, subtraction, division can come into the picture.

but then, there is the equal sign. or the line drawn, under which a total appears. no matter what the mathematical process, the end product is a solution. sometimes, we have to start over or ask for help. yet, we are not alone, for the world is full of people counting the days as the world spins and spins.

so if i count my heartbeats, will you ask me to multiply them by all the people with whom i share this earth?
