I have been reconsidering my passion to better understand the world, and I am happy I ran across your blog. I have been thinking about the state of my country, the U.S.A. I would like to open the window up on this topic as I am afraid so many people are not aware of the situation we are in and what that situation could lead to.
I am really sorry I don't spell words well, but I have never placed very much focus on things that have little relevance. Such as capital letters here or a misspelled word there. I only want to say I know we are all one people. People in the East, Africa and here all hurt and need the same thing. Yet, our country has stopped taking care of itself. Yes, we are no island, man, nor country. (If I start using back-slash for punctuation, forgive me for lack of time to spend editing my talk.) I just hope our country can find a way to take care of our best interest and not forget to help those in need, for we have been so blessed and have so much. I don't want to put this issue out of sight or out of mind/ I want to make sure people know I care about anyone who walks this earth, because we are all just a slate marked with experience. Hat tip to the greats. But, man, I am freaking scared. There is abundant business in complete shambles. Providing jobs or creating a well running business was my goal after obtaining my second college degree. But I really am afraid my area is not the only place in the U.S.A. that is suffering so badly. My classes in college in Florida really bring awareness to the prospect of a bad economy sticking around for a long time. The U.S.A. has been there for so many. The country has done and does great things. But the war in Iraq. Is that even about terrorism any more, or about waste? I know we are getting out of there, but dang, how long do you have to keep learning you can't drive people from their home-land? Vietnam....cough. Sorry. Tickle in my throat. I am really worried about the state or our union and I am afraid we have for got to take care of our self first, because with out that step/ who care. We can't have humanitarian aid efforts. We can't help a damn sole if we don't fix the problems in America. Sorry to wax, but I need to get that out. I am scared. Scared. We have lost touch with how hard we worked to get to be a world power.

I loved your blog

there are times persons comment and ask me to post their blog information as a part of comments on this one. sometimes, i do that since it is a way of helping us connect with one another.

however, if it is not in english then i am not sure what i am posting. i believe the posts are fine but if i cannot read them in my language, then i am not really involved in the process of posting.

i do understand a little spanish. and wish i could speak languages in addition to my own. and greatly admire persons who can communicate in more than one language.

having said this, followers are listed and their own blogs can be found under their profiles.

you wont erase the view, you will evert your view to something more compelling.

are you speaking of physically drawing on-adding-curtains to the picture, therefore blocking the window and creating a new view of a room without external stimuli...or do you mean drawing the curtains, as in drawing them back, to expose the view through the window....hmmm

anne artist said...

both

I posted a comment, but lost my connection. Food for thought. If I draw the curtains, the issue still exist. If I look at my view, I can't bear it. I pull the curtains and my issue still exist, even with my view obscured. Thus, I can no longer pull the blinds. I have to open my window up and look out, head held high, and attempt to alter either my perception or the issue of which I no longer can consume. Peace, love, care, hope and always think.

I feel the lens we look at life through is drawn by our own experience and knowledge or lack there of. I attempt to paint or draw a view that contains no bias or negative feelings or judgements. Yet, my view can change quickly. I have to create my image of the real world everyday. The culture, the language, spoken or of love, determines my view. If I can not accept the way my image looks, I do not draw the curtains to block the view. I simply step back, say a prayer and redraw. At this time, my view is not what I wish for it to be. I have drawn the curtain as a physical function of my internal drive to survive. I can't change what is on the other side of the lens I look through, and the time to find out I had no control over others took a long time, and I continue to work on the issue of always taking life's view head on. I simply alter the image as being relative to what my inner most self says is right. Maybe this makes for good thought. I have to return to a work routine I am very unhappy with, yet what a blessing to be working and learning. Today, I am blessed, so today I will be thankful.

anne artist said...

so, if you draw the curtains, you will be aware of the view since once you have seen it, it can't be erased?

are you saying that you redraw yourself instead?

anne artist said...

in regard to your second comment, wes...

is the version of yourself that you are drawing, the inside self that can't be seen? ah....what kind of pencil do you use for that?

cool, but need more improvement, background staining, especially in these blogs

anne artist said...

that would be one way of presenting the images. perhaps a more "finished" look.

for me, i enjoy the simple line. other people can fill in the background. or not.

in some ways, this is like a coloring book. who knows, maybe someone might even color outside the lines......
