If i spoke to you...do you concentrate on the silence in between my words ...that you would ask me to repeat it ?? I am not a person who enjoys silence ....although ...at times silence ....is really preferred :)....

yes, I would. I think silence often says more than the words between it.

To your question:
"s, with what ears do we hear the silence?"

I think... only the silence as in absence of ideas or feelings to express, can be heard by ears.

All other silences are felt, not heard.

And, sometimes, conversations can be so empty they really are silence.

so, stephanie, back to your comment, i really like it. thank you.

the distinction between the silences that can be heard rather than felt. that is huge.

an empty silence..........is that heard and felt both?

Empty...silence....hmmm...maybe in the emptiness ...the complete silence ....the feeling of words is in your mind and heart ....thus ...the silence is there ....becos you had control so much thus it is possible for me to ask you for the silence between your words .... becos what i really long for are those words that is full in your heart and mind :)

s.a., that is beautiful.

in the emptiness can be found the fullness. in the silence, the words i most want to hear....
