This is a tough one! Where I live, roses turn papery brown and shrivelled before they get buried in snow and ice. In that case, I WOULD rather be a nice sunny yellow colour. On the other hand, if I lived in Italy, where roses bloom all year long, and are deep red, I would prefer to stay red. I look good in red--much better than in yellow. :) Rosemary
so what color is a rose blooming in the winter? is a brown and shriveled bloom still a bloom? and a rose continually blooming red........does that somehow lose the intensity of its hue?
i wonder, if you look good in red, do you outshine the yellow sun...........? or like a red rose, does you hue deepen in the golden light?
Hey sorry for not commenting for the past few days.Love the colorful artwork.. so my reflection.. if I were the color of a rose blooming in winter, would i rather be white than red or yellow, since white may give me feel of belonging to the white winter?
Ahhhh..beautiful... so can we say the rose is colorless..and with our imagination and views we are adding color to it..red for it's typical standard. yellow to spread the warmth..white to feel a belonging..and maybe certain other colors along the way...
I think the original colour of rose is red,so i think is good not to change ....why would i want to be like the warm sun and turned to be yellow unless the owner of the rose prefer a yellow one .......haha...talking about winter does anything remain alive in winter ....guess not rose but ...the blossoms of Japanese flowers ....called "mei hua"....right ??
Yes it is a change.Changes disturb us ....but the world is constantly changing....even the bible state that there will be renewal ...then again does renewal or changes need to basically change the basics of what you are born to be,to do....if there is changes does it mean .....it will be different all together or how will it look, feel and smell like....guess i like popeye....he is always he is ....but he do change after taking his power food ...he changed to a person with strength after the food .....so only energy from external can really make the necessary changes....that we couldn't make ourselves :) But are we willing to take that food ?? Or we are too used to the normal and couldn't bother to change for the better ....
Guess ....change appears in different forms....but basically human understand it as being different from the formal ....i would like to add perhaps it include not different ....but added to it more colours and hues thus it looks different ....but guess bascially the basic form is there ....the what is the foundation, the what is the first stoke , the what is (in this case) the seeds of the rose that the owner planted ....:)
i like that concept........that change involves adding more hues.......
so i wonder, although the seed is gone, does the rose contain within it the hues of the seed and the first green stem sprouting out from the earth? is that which is no longer visible still present?
is that which is changed over time still that which was there in the first moment of beginning?
I liked that question....Is that which is changed over time still that which was there in the first moment of beginning ??...dun know why, it leads me to the first book of bible .....and the unfolding of accounts in the passing of time ....it reminds me how God, created the first Adam, and how in his disobedience turned away from God, but Jesus came and He brought us back into that relationship with God again....thus we humans can again be with God,to communicate with Him ....thus i like to answer that question in the sense that yes, that which is changed over time will still be that in the first moment of beginning :)....my a dollar worth of thoughts :)
i suppose since i am here now, i was not there at the beginning. or if i was, i do not recognize myself.
yet, scientists say we are made of stardust from the first moments of the universe. so, maybe i just don't recognize the star within me. instead, focusing on those twinkling lights high in the night sky.
But we need to be humble and not get carried away by only rejoicing in the star that is within you....we should help the moon in providing that light and in doing so also admire the stars that are high above,to learn from them thus doing the necessary things for the world that we called to be in ....:)....in ways that you delight in, where you could contribute.
i am wondering about the seed from which the rose is grown. it disappears but yet other seeds appear from which new roses can be born. (i actually don't know how roses are propagated but this is not meant to be taken on a totally literal basis.)
we lose our origin but yet, in so doing, develop the seeds of that which will come after us.
Sometimes i take pity on the sun...cos it never rest....when it rises from East, and sets from West...is back to East and sets again from West ....is the sun tired ?? But i know God make the sun strong, very strong ....so i will always admire that sun ....for it's strength,it's light :)
i am a painter who began my career as a child coloring outside the lines of my coloring books. i am a writer who started out by composing adventure stories while riding my stick horse around the backyard. as a child, i got in trouble for asking too many questions...i question that.
"the emperor's new clothes" by hans christian andersen
this fairy tale has been a companion to me as i have traveled through my life.
briefly, it is about an emperor who was deceived by two tailors who said they were making a set of clothing out of a "dream" fabric. in reality, they used no fabric at all. to make their scam complete, they announced that only those who were wise enough would be able to see the beautiful clothing. and so, no one, not even the emperor, admitted to being unable to see it.
wearing his new "clothing", the emperor paraded through his kingdom. no one questioned his appearance; no one wished to appear less than wise.
until a small child asked, "why is the emperor not wearing any clothes?"
so it is that i ask, if i question rather than believe i am wise, what will i see?

s.a., great to hear from you again!

thanks and i am glad to hear from you, bh!
you have an interesting point......i didn't say that the rose was red........the drawing might imply it..........might not.......
and white would enable you to harmonize with snow if it fell from a cloudy sky.

so the rose could bring in the yellow of the sun and still remain a rose..........

there is a cartoon in the u.s. about a character named popeye. he often says, " i am what i am."
i wonder, is what i am the same or is it always changing? even if the changes are not noticeable.
is a change that goes unnoticed not a change?
Yes it is a change.Changes disturb us ....but the world is constantly changing....even the bible state that there will be renewal ...then again does renewal or changes need to basically change the basics of what you are born to be,to do....if there is changes does it mean .....it will be different all together or how will it look, feel and smell like....guess i like popeye....he is always he is ....but he do change after taking his power food ...he changed to a person with strength after the food .....so only energy from external can really make the necessary changes....that we couldn't make ourselves :) But are we willing to take that food ?? can we keep ourselves from changing? the body is a continual state of change, renewal.......how do we define "change"?
Guess ....change appears in different forms....but basically human understand it as being different from the formal ....i would like to add perhaps it include not different ....but added to it more colours and hues thus it looks different ....but guess bascially the basic form is there ....the what is the foundation, the what is the first stoke , the what is (in this case) the seeds of the rose that the owner planted ....:)

ahhh...stars helping the moon shed light on the dark night below.........a beautiful image. thank you, s.a.!
