Both. When you are the limbs, you bring about goodness to the world (like creating works of art) and when you are the flower, you are the product of someone else's good work (for example, your parents, friends, environment, morals, etc.) I think we start off as flowers and become branches striving to be covered with buds. For myself, i prefer to be the limbs....becos the limbs (or branches) always had been the useful part bring water from the roots to other parts of the tree to let it grow ....not like the leaves nor flowers which will need to drop or died for the sake of helping to reproduce for the tree ....but guess every parts of the tree is useful and we can never choose to be part of it or not, except to make good use of the unity of body with the gifts of individual to make a difference ...:)
Reminds me of a old song "In this valley they say you are leaving, we will miss your bright eyes and sweet smile...."....sometimes when life gets complicated and stress out i just like to sing ....:)
s.a., this reminds me of the time i worked in aging, with people who had had strokes and were aphasic...sometimes, they could sing. or people who were confused could sing songs from their past.
i wonder if the rhythms of our childhood still beat within us long after they are seemingly forgotten.
May be singing out songs is the unknowingly letting out of our will .....they still do and always will...."is a small world after all...there is just one moon and one golden sun....and one smile means friend ship to everyone ...there so much, that we share, is a small world after all ".... Blessed Christmas :)
I'd rather be "blossoms". If I am a tree what is the main purpose is to give shade and make a forest...so i need to blossom...and to create more of my breed....if not why survive...just to give shade...?
i am a painter who began my career as a child coloring outside the lines of my coloring books. i am a writer who started out by composing adventure stories while riding my stick horse around the backyard. as a child, i got in trouble for asking too many questions...i question that.
"the emperor's new clothes" by hans christian andersen
this fairy tale has been a companion to me as i have traveled through my life.
briefly, it is about an emperor who was deceived by two tailors who said they were making a set of clothing out of a "dream" fabric. in reality, they used no fabric at all. to make their scam complete, they announced that only those who were wise enough would be able to see the beautiful clothing. and so, no one, not even the emperor, admitted to being unable to see it.
wearing his new "clothing", the emperor paraded through his kingdom. no one questioned his appearance; no one wished to appear less than wise.
until a small child asked, "why is the emperor not wearing any clothes?"
so it is that i ask, if i question rather than believe i am wise, what will i see?

m, i like the idea of the tree's process.

s.a., bringing water from the roots.....it's almost like the limbs have a river function......

one small world with many songs and as you say, s.a., one smile.......

to give shade or to produce more trees.....
to give new life or to be a healing respite to the life that exists...
a choice indeed.
Well...indeed life indeed boiled down to choices afterall....
and the choice not to chose is also a choice......
