Burning fireplace consists of logs burning together ...while a match is a small stick burning by itself ....hmmmm....but the match do somehow ....start the fire by lighting the logs :)...haha....i would rather choose to be burning fireplace ...as it encompasses the warmth of the many logs :)

where would the logs be without the "small stick"?

me too--I'd rather be the fireplace basking in the gathering of people around to get warm, the glow and crackle, the focus of the room. The match is a one second flare of ignition. Yes, there would be no fire without the match and that has real significance, but so short-lived.

so the match only experiences the few moments of the flame. and something has to cause it to ignite. otherwise,it is simply a small stick.

and the fire in the fireplace depends on the match. otherwise, it is simply a collection of logs.

so the match without the fireplace...and the fireplace without the match...not very enlightening....
