to teach you would be to say to you that you already have the knowledge within yourself....

and i would like to add to my own comment.....you hand already has the lines, the shapes...just allow yourself to be the pen....

i would rather be the waterfall....guess is subjective ....why would you choose what you choose ?? Ya, a river is long ,and calm ...and there is a peace ....but i like waterfall ....becos there is a force in it ....the sounds it made....the strength it show....letting the water fall....and it is the beginning of where water flows into a river ....i like beginnings ....becos i dun know where and what endings will bring .....my a dollar of thots :)

if you were a river you'd make me shiver and quiver

anne artist said...

and if i were a waterfall, would you fly?

anne artist said...

sally ang, i like that you see the waterfall as a beginning.

for me, it is the middle.

and i like that you see the waterfall as so expressive. and that it would take you to a new beginning.

i am wondering how the waterfall would learn to be a river?

the rocks teach the waterfall to be a river.

but why to compare
i river is a river & a waterfall is a waterfall.happy being what u are is carries the whole fun.
as a waterfall i may be the middle wid no begening & no end but yet i m full of potential which a river is not
i m capable of creating current which a river wud dare not do.
but is i m a river i wud practice calmness which a waterfall can never practice
personally i like being river.i have dedicated a page on my blog to a river in India
its called Vyas/beas
ferocious of all but yet lovely

rocks can be teachers.....

and i am not sure that it is not so much as one bing better than another.....it is about what is experienced with each. and yes, within each waterfall is a river and a river might become a waterfall, if even a small one.

your river does sound lovely. thank you for mentioning it.

it is the water that flows through the waterfall and the river, I choose water. :)

anne artist said...

and if i were the water, i could flow to the ocean......

If you are a waterfall, you empty into the river which empties into the ocean..so you see it´s all connceted, again the point of human existence comes here..we are all different yet beaded in the same beautiful chain of humanity..
rivew serene yet waterfalls are filled with energy, but even though they have different mechanism they still have the same destination right?
If you rather be someone else, you are fooling yourself, since you cannot be different from your true self, and even if you select to be be opposite of u...u will come back to your former self, like the waterfall will flow into a river and the river may at one point become a waterfall again =).

and if i were a waterfall and i missed being the river, what then?

and if i were a waterfall, could i describe the experience in a way the river would understand?

Yes waterfall and rivers are interconnected ....they each have their own contributions to the people who are using it (in the context of them being the natural)....guess waterfall could not tell what rivers the way it operates, neither can the river to the waterfall....but they both contain water and make of rocks....thus although they are different in ways, they are also simliar.....would the waterfall come to envy what a river do and river vice versa ??

I like to be in the flow and shed tears both in sadness and joy.

anne artist said...

ramps.....being in the flow......goes beyond being either a river or a waterfall, it seems.....

anne artist said...

sally ang....interconnected. different yet similar.

sometimes rivers become turbulent, too.....when water in the form of rain falls into them. white water rapids might look like small waterfalls. rapids roar and water spews high into the air.

rivers can flood, crossing their own boundary lines, their own banks....

waterfalls... if the river brings them too much rain, they too can crash down on what lies below them.

there is a beauty to both river and waterfall but if they receive too much of what creates them, then they create destruction.

and if, on the other hand, clouds vanish and the sun grows hotter and hotter.....then they both can become merely a memory.....only dried earth remains.

A waterfall is just when the river is trying to fly.

We lived near the gorge. It wasn't a waterfall, it was a water avalanche. Thundery clouds melted to pure river. The Yakimas would every year climb down the gorge and make a small little hand hold of wood. Then they would dip their nets into the cloud/river/waterfall and come back filled with bounty. The gorge and river were their friends.

PS: Today's code is: "She's a little lighthouse when she opens up her glowing eyes." Again, "She's a little light house when she opens up her glowing eyes." Yeah, yeah. Today's colour is collide-o-scoptic. Today's author has bought another round. That is all, maho maho.

anne artist said...

lazarus lupin, by any chance was the waterfall an avalanche of clouds yielding bounty when netted by the hands of the woman in the lighthouse under a collide-o-scoptic sky?

the river asked me to raise the question.......

at 4:30 a.m., a heavy downpour woke me up. with my eyes still closed, i listened.

i felt as if i were in a waterfall.

what i got from your picture/statement is this: that being human is being constantly being unsatisfied. yes you can satiate your desire for some time...but eventually, we need to move, to change pace. to be unsatisfiable is to be alive, to always want more from life. the second i attain something i sought out for, i want something else. the grass is always greener on the other side, but is it?

anne artist said...

and there is also curiosity, the desire to explore.

or perhaps, i would not wish to fall but rather be in the flow........

How about the rocks...rocks that rocks the water to form the rapids and waterfalls!

anne artist said...

if i had been a waterfall that became a river, would i wish to become a rock that creates rapids and waterfalls?

E. Studnicka said...

I'm sure all waterfalls wish they were rivers and all rivers wish they were waterfalls...if only for a little while.

anne artist said...

well, there you have it!

Being a waterfall is an interlude--you were a river before and you will be again. I do love paradox.

anne artist said...

keres,

interludes.....what would life be like without them?

Adelene Chiam said...

If you were the river too, wouldn't you be falling into yourself? That means immersing yourself in self-understanding really...

anne artist said...

i can't think of a better thing to do than fall into myself!
